Jersey numbers in Indian Cricket Team

Jersey numbers are written on the rear side of the players in cricket. Cricketers in India are given a chance to pick their lucky number and it will allotted to them if it is not allocated to any other players. It is not mandatory to have jersey number thought but most of the players choose to opt one. If players is not interested to pick any then BCCI will allocate a random number. Even fans come up to ground with jersey number t shirts to support their favorite players.

Dhoni 7, Kohli 18, & Rohit 45:

MS Dhoni used to wore 7 number jersey may be because his birth month July is 7th and day is 7th. Rohit Sharma is playing for number jersey 45 through out his career. Sehwag used 46 jersey and played without any number at times. Yuvraj singh wore 12 number jersey from the beginning of his career. Gautam Gambhir played with 5 number jersey in all the matches, we seen Rayudu too picking 5 number jersey. King Virat Kohli likes 18 number jersey and Hardik Pandya playes with jersey 33.

When jersey numbers were introduced in 1999, captain of the team used to wore number 1 jersey and rest of the players from 2 to 15. KL Rahul was never captain but picked jersey number 1 as his choice. Ten number jersey is the most famous with which Sachin Tendulkar broke & created n number of records. Even after his retirement the board did not allocated 10 number jersey to anyone as of now, and most of the players are not daring to take it as if is very respectable and scared of making mistakes with it on and off the ground.
